Synopsis
A L-O-L standalone romantic comedy readers are calling their favorite romcom of all-time!
A wrong number is supposed to be just that–a wrong number.
Delete. Done.
Do not continue to text. Do not flirt.
A wrong number shouldn’t be the first person on your mind in the morning, or the last at night…and you’re definitely not supposed to talk them into buying a baby goat.
Because that would be weird.
When Zach Hastings and I get into a wrong-number mix-up, we don’t follow the rules. We keep texting and flirting, because he’s wicked funny and perfectly nerdy and a wonderful distraction.
I’m not looking for love, and Zach definitely had the wrong number.
But maybe…
Maybe he’s the right guy.
My Thoughts
This was a fun, easy novel. Loved that most of the communication took place over text. There is a baby goat which I thought it was so cute!
Synopsis
It’s just a docuseries about your career as an OB/GYN, they said. It won’t interrupt your life during or after filming, they said. It’s a great opportunity for the hospital and your practice, they said.
Well, they – the television executives who seem intent on ruining my career and personal life with a fair number of creative liberties – lied. Now I’m stuck dealing with the consequences of believing them. Instead of being known as Dr. Will Cummings, head of obstetrics and gynecology at St. Luke’s Hospital, I’m now being called Dr. Obscene.
What devotion I’d hoped to earn in respect, I’ve instead received in patients flashing me seductive smiles and flirtatious winks during their exams.
How’s a guy supposed to convince the most perfect woman he’s ever met that he’s not as much of an idiot in real life as he appears to be on camera?
My Thoughts
I listened to this book on audio and thought it was excellent. The whole docu-series was a lot of fun. If you are looking for Doctor Romance, this is a great series to borrow.
Synopsis
This best friends to strangers to lovers romance will sweep you off your feet with its intense mutual pining and love that slowly blooms. Watch Elle and Dylan, two cinnamon roll dumbasses who are terrified to face their feelings, fall in love.
Elle Jones is constantly immersed in her job and doesn’t have time for much else. Her work life is on point, but the rest? Not so much. She never takes time to take care of herself, and she’s terrified of not being good enough to be loved.
Dylan Andrews recently moved in with his brother after leaving London. He doesn’t have a job, but he’s determined to figure out what he wants to do with his life.
When the two of them run into each other, they’re overwhelmed by old feelings that never really went away. After a long talk on a quiet beach under a glimmering night sky, Dylan comes up with an idea that could change everything. He writes a list of things to show Elle that love is real, it can be true, it can last, and it can find her when the time is right. As they move through all the items written on a crumpled piece of paper, Elle slowly starts learning that there is more to life than she thought, and Dylan realizes that he would do anything to fight for love.
Can the two of them face the feelings they keep trying to avoid before the list ends? Can they take a leap towards a future that could be filled with unconditional love, both for each other and themselves, or will it be too late?
Synopsis
Sonya Pope is pragmatic, always rational, and has no time for setbacks, so when she arrives at her elopement to find her fiance wants to break up rather than get married, she uses the flight home to reprioritize. But when a woman on the plane has a medical emergency, she puts her mental list-making on hold and jumps to action. Unfortunately, so does the cocky, almost-paramedic two rows back.Ben “Trav” Travis totally got to that patient first, but the cranky nurse with the pretty brown eyes made a big show of taking charge. Sure, he might be one clinical rotation away from actually being a certified paramedic, but he has real-life experience. The kind he wouldn’t wish on anyone. When Trav shows up at the hospital two days later to find the same woman is his preceptor, a second battle begins. Trav’s got too much riding on this to let a woman with a chip on her shoulder make his life miserable, and Sonya’s not about to let a pretty-boy with an adventure complex disrupt the one area of her life that she still has control over. But when a patient they both grow to care about needs their help, their head vs heart battle sparks into something neither one of them trained for.
Synopsis
I have found rock bottom. It’s here, moving in with my older brother because I’m too broke to afford to live on my own. It’s okay though, because we’ve always been close and I think I’m going to have fun living with him again.
That is until I meet Cooper…
Turns out, my brother has very strong opinions on the idea of me dating his best friend and is dead set against it. According to him, Cooper is everything I should stay away from: flirtatious, adventurous, non-committal, and freaking hot. (I added that last part because I feel like you need the whole picture.) My brother is right–I should stay away from Cooper James and his pretty blue eyes. He’s the opposite of what I need right now.
Nah–who am I kidding? I’m going for it.
My Thoughts
This is a closed door romance that was a fun read. You can read it in one sitting.
Synopsis
I’ve spent eight years wishing I’d fall out of love with Derek Knightley. Blowing out birthday candles, chasing after shooting stars, making it rain spare change into mall fountains—every time it’s the same wish: forget about Derek.
But the day he walks back into my life, I realize there are two things time has yet to soften: my feelings for him and his chiseled jawline.
It’s infuriating that my heart still races when he walks into a room. I refuse to fall prey to old unrequited love, so I decide the less I’m around him, the better. Avoidance is key.
Unfortunately, Derek isn’t going to make it easy. As a teenager, I would have crawled on my hands and knees to attract his attention. Now I can’t seem to escape it.
I’m not sure why he’s bothering. He’s not just out of my league—he’s out of my tax bracket. As the sole heir to the Knightley Company, he’s as close to American royalty as you can get. As for me, I’m just a part-time princess at Knightley’s flagship magical theme park.
I spend my days playing make-believe, but Derek has no use for fairytales. His unwavering confidence makes it clear he thinks I’ll surrender in the end.
He’s just biding his time.
Making me sweat.
My Thoughts
RS Grey writes low angst. romcoms that are the perfect escape.
Synopsis:
When I first met Blake Crawford, all I wanted to do was hit him in the face.
Maybe the groin.
Okay, maybe I wanted to kiss him too, but that’s neither here nor there. I mean, he may have a gorgeous English accent, sexy full lips and an ass I’d like to bite but…
Where was I?
Right.
Being in the same creative writing class, he’s the last person I wanted to speak to, let alone be paired up with for my final assignment.
But here comes the kicker…not only did our project end up getting us both As but we found out we work well together.
Really well together.
I hate him and he hates me and yet we churn out gold.
We’ve started writing self-published erotica under a pen name and let me tell you one thing…
Writing dirty sex scenes with the sexiest, most infuriating man you know is a lot harder than you think.
And keeping our hands off each other?
Well that’s another story…one with an ending I didn’t see coming.
My Thoughts
This was my first Karina Halle book and it did not disappoint. Loved the enemies to lovers, the whole writing process and how they came together.
Synopsis
Low Angst, high feels. I loved every minute of their journey.” – Bookshelf Obsessions
Our bromance will change the rules of game.
When I told my brother I’d do anything to save our dad’s diner, I should have been more specific. Obviously, I didn’t mean I’d go on a reality dating show in an effort to drum up more business. But since I know a thing or two about taking one for the team, I board a plane to sunny Southern California where I’ll spend the next several weeks pretending to woo the show’s beautiful heroine.
Only, in a surprise twist absolutely no one saw coming, I’m actually falling in love. Except it’s not my potential future wife I can’t stop thinking about. The guy who’s become my best friend here in L.A. though? The one with magnetic blue eyes and a quiet confidence that drags me deeper and deeper under his spell?
Well, that’s another show entirely.
My Thoughts:
I love a reality tv dating show book and this one did not disappoint,
