This is my second reading wrap up for the month of January. On Friday, I shared the first ten books that I read this month, here are the final 10 books.
This is book 3 of the Dirty Deeds series but you can read it as a standalone. I read book 1 but didn’t read book 2 yet and I was able to follow the story. This is the story of Sean and Shayla. It’s emotional and angsty. I enjoyed the story but it’s not my top J.Daniels novel.
This is a romantic suspense novel that I was hoping to be Jordan’s story but sadly it wasn’t. It was dark and gritty. I enjoyed the story and I will continue with book 2 in the series.
I love Vi Keeland’s romantic comedies and this was no exception. This story is adorable and it has an adorable happily ever after. I thoroughly enjoy this romance.
This is book 4 in the Wright family series. I binged read this series last summer so it was a bit of time until I got this book so I forgot some of the side characters storylines. It was a good story, I am looking forward for book 5 and 6 which a duet for the final sibling. There were lot’s of hints about the romance in this book.
This is a young adult fantasy novel about fairies. It’s been hyped up in bookstagram and booktube and it does live up to the hype. I enjoyed the storyline and the character development of the female characters. There is political intrigue and the ending was unexpected. I am looking forward to book 2 in this series.
This is my favorite Kasie West book ever! This is the story of Abby who is an artist and she wants to participate in an art show. She received a critique that she didn’t have heart and depth in her paintings. Over the course of a month, Abby creates a heart list of things that she would do to bring up her emotions. This was such an awesome book. I strongly recommend reading it. It does fall in line with this month’s podcast theme of transformation.
This is an adorable winter read of a wedding set in Scotland while they are filming a reality show. I felt that the reality show part of the story felt force. I wished there was a book 1 about her sister’s love story. The ending felt rushed.
This is a young adult contemporary novel. I read a similar book this past month that did a better a job with the storyline. The main character wants to fall in love and she uses the tropes of romance novels to catch the guy. I found the main character naive with lack of character development. This was a relatively short book that could use more work.
*I received an ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange of my opinions. My opinions are my own.
I came to this book weary because I hated the first book in this series. This book was a pleasant surprise. They remove the over the top of jokes and focus on an interesting storyline. I love, love Braht and his metrosexual ways. I think he was the perfect hero for Ashley. I would strongly encourage you to read book 2 in the series. Oh yeah it’s a good standalone read.
If you love the Bachelor, then you would love this book. I absolutely adored this book. The hero was the perfect bachelor. The heroine was the laid back drama free character in the midst of drama. The couple fell in love off camera through secret rendez vous. Lauren Layne is one of my auto-buy authors.
There you have all of the books that I read this January.
In the comments below, please share what books are you planning on reading this February. Also have you read any of these books, if so what are your thoughts?
